Sr. Simona Brambilla, Prefect of the Dicastery for Consecrated Life, accompanied by Daniela Leggio, Head of the Office for Promotion and Formation, met in the United States with the councils of the three Conferences of Major Superiors—two representing women and one representing men—in distinct sessions of listening and dialogue both in person and online.
The meetings, held in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 9 to 14, unfolded in an atmosphere of fraternity and mutual attentiveness. They provided an opportunity to share the challenges and prospects of consecrated life in the country. A convivial evening further fostered personal acquaintance and the exchange of reflections.
Sister Simona encouraged the Conferences, despite their diversity, to continue advancing on the path of communion and fraternity in the service of the Gospel. She and Daniela also participated in segments of the LCWR’s annual assembly, one of the two Conferences of Major Superiors.
These days in Atlanta proved to be an occasion for mutual enrichment and the exchange of gifts. They highlighted how the fragility experienced by Consecrated Life in many contexts can become a blessed return to our origins, to the heart of our vocation, to the Gospel, and to God, who loves to manifest Himself in littleness, humility, and the gentle tenacity of a love capable of embracing vulnerability and making it fruitful.
