What is the Jubilee?

The city of Rome from 24 December 2024 to January 2026 (the opening and closing of the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Basilica), will host the 27th Jubilee in history and the second in the Pontificate of Pope Francis, a special year in which the faithful have the opportunity to ask for a plenary indulgence for themselves or for deceased relatives.

The Holy Father has chosen “Pilgrims of Hope” as the motto for the Jubilee 2025: “the forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire.” He invites everyone to “fan the flame of hope” and “help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision” (from the letter addressed to H.E. Msgr. Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization - Section for Fundamental Questions regarding Evangelization in the World and in charge of organizing the event).

As consecrated persons, we want to try to live this jubilee in a special way, and we have chosen to articulate the official motto by emphasizing the theme of peace:

Pilgrims of hope on the path of peace.

We invite everyone to join this journey that we began last July 2023 in all countries and which will end in October 2025 in Rome.
