On June 24, 2024, in a fraternal and joyful atmosphere, 15 members of the Bishops' Conference of Ethiopia were welcomed to our Dicastery on the occasion of the Ad Limina Visit.

“We have brought with us the greetings and affection of all our jurisdictions and the people of God,” said Archbishop Markos Gebremedhin, spokesman for the Conference, recalling next the long history of holiness that has characterized the service of consecrated men and women in Ethiopia.

A country recently tried by two years of war that still experiences significant social emergencies, in which consecrated men and women stand by those who suffer with generosity and dedication.

There are a good number of vocations, which they try to follow up with human and spiritual formation on an ad hoc basis. Also of note is the presence of the Conference of Men and Women Religious (C.M.R.S.), which has been working in Ethiopia for several years.
