Preparatory meeting for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life 2025
As part of the journey of preparation for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life in 2025, an online meeting organized by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life was held on 17 October 2024. This event, held through the zoom platform, was an important stage of discussion and planning with national commissions and major superiors from various countries.
During the meeting, the progress made so far and the next steps towards the two main moments of the Jubilee were outlined:
● The National Jubilee, which will be celebrated in every country on 2 February 2025, coinciding with the Day of Consecrated Life.
● The worldwide Jubilee, scheduled to take place in Rome from 8 to 12 October 2025, with the participation of consecrated men and women from all over the world.
Reflections shared during the meeting emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of peace, solidarity and mutual care. As reiterated in the letter of convocation signed by Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, Prefect of our Dicastery, and Sister Simona Brambilla, M.C., Secretary of the Dicastery, the goal of these meetings is not so much to organize large gatherings but to initiate processes that promote a culture of peace and solidarity. It is about opening paths responsive to the challenges of unity in today’s society, placing at the center the values of universal fraternity and attention to the “least of these.”
This synodal path of preparation is enriched by the commitment of the Jubilee Commissions of each nation, invited to share the material produced and local experiences, so that the mosaic of initiatives can be a sign of hope for the Church and the whole world.
The Dicastery announced that the World Jubilee will consist of two important events:
- The first two days, 8 and 9 October 2025, will be managed by the central Jubilee organization. It is already possible to register online or on the Jubilee app
- From 10 to 12 October 2025, the Dicastery for Consecrated Life will coordinate the events For these days, registration (which will open soon) can be done online through this site.
