On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the eve of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple, on the occasion of the National Jubilee of Consecrated Life, many consecrated men and women from all parts of the country gathered in Shkodra where, in the variety of charisms and missionary activities, they are the presence of the universal expression of the Church.

Enlightened by the witness of the Albanian martyrs, victims of the persecution of the Catholic Church during the communist regime, they went on pilgrimage to various places in the city linked to their martyrdom. The witnesses of faith who gave their lives in Albania have a word to say to consecrated life today: they are an invitation to walk in the certainty of always being consoled by the Lord in the different moments of life, not to doubt his presence, to persevere in fidelity, which is the mark of the strong, and to be always and everywhere witnesses of the hope that does not disappoint.

The procession with lighted candles, the passage through the Holy Door and the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by His Excellency Archbishop Giovanni Peragine, B., Archbishop of Shkodër-Pult, were the highlight of the morning pilgrimage.

The Jubilee was also a beautiful testimony of ecclesial communion thanks to the presence of the Bishops of Albania, the Counselor of the Apostolic Nunciature, the Albanian Conference of Major Superiors (K.Sh.E.L.) and two representatives of the Dicastery for Consecrated Life.
