The Joy of Sharing, the Strength of Communion
Dialogue, communion, and the sharing of projects characterized a series of meetings held last week. On Monday, January 20, at our Dicastery, His Eminence Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, S.D.B., Pro-Prefect; Sister Carmen Ros Nortes, N.S.C., and Father Aitor Jiménez Echave, C.M.F., Undersecretaries, along with Dr. Daniela Leggio, Head of Office, had the opportunity to share ideas and projects for the formation of consecrated life with Sister Jane Wakahiu, LSOSF, Associate Vice President of Program Operations and Head of the Hilton Foundation’s Catholic Sisters Program, accompanied by her collaborators Angelique Mutombo, Hortensia del Villa, and Sabrina Wong.
The Hilton Foundation, which supports projects of female religious communities to assist them in their mission of sowing hope and promoting human dignity, peace, and justice, has contributed in recent years to the realization of several Dicastery projects, such as the
e-Studium study course, conferences, and international trips. During the meeting, the Dicastery representatives expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for the fruitful collaboration and discussed potential future projects.
On January 23, Dr. Daniela Leggio, Head of Office, and Dr. Vittoria Terenzi (Official of the Dicastery), participated in an event organized by the Dicastery for Communication and the Hilton Foundation, held at the Vatican Apostolic Library.
Weaving Communion through Communication was the theme of the meeting, which brought together religious sisters, professionals, and communication operators from around the world.
Held in the context of the Jubilee of the World of Communications, the event provided an opportunity to share experiences and reflections on how to communicate hope in the contemporary media environment. It was an intense day that concluded with the sharing of gifts received and a reflection on the actions to be undertaken so that consecrated life may increasingly serve the Church, proclaiming to the world the Good News of the Gospel.
