Our Cardinal Prefect João Braz de Aviz is participating in the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops that began in Rome on the day dedicated to the Patron of Italy, St. Francis of Assisi.
At the opening Mass, the Pope invited us to face today's challenges and problems not with a spirit of division and conflict, but by centering our gaze on God, to be a Church that listens, dialogues and does not divide. The protagonist is the Holy Spirit who shatters our expectations and creates new things.
Let us accompany the work of the Synod, which will conclude next 29 October, with prayer and the invocation of the Holy Spirit.
