Registration for the new academic year of the eStudium Course will open on September 10. The course is sponsored by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life to provide training on the magisterium, canon law, and the canonical praxis of consecrated life.
The two-year course is conducted entirely online, thereby facilitating participation by consecrated women and men living in contexts where educational opportunities are more difficult to access. The lectures, offered in Italian, are simultaneously translated into English, Spanish, and—starting this year—also in French, thus allowing for an ever-wider participation. The curriculum has also been enriched with two new courses, Synodality and Consecrated Life and A Culture of Safeguarding in Consecrated Life, introduced to provide tools for reflection and deeper understanding on two themes that are particularly significant today for the journey and mission of consecrated life.
Classes will be held between late October and early June, on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, at times that allow for participation by consecrated women and men residing in other nations and continents.
It is possible to enroll in the course as regular students, by taking the exams required by the curriculum and earning the final diploma, or as auditors, by attending the lectures without the obligation to take exams. In presenting this educational opportunity, we would also like to inform you that the Dicastery, thanks to the support of the Hilton Foundation, is offering 120 scholarships, reserved for consecrated women, distributed as follows: 40 for English, 40 for Spanish, and 40 for French.
The scholarship is intended for religious women who can commit to regularly and successfully completing the entire two-year program, participating in academic activities, taking the required exams, and earning the final diploma. The application must be submitted by October 10 by the Major Superior of the consecrated woman using the appropriate form.
When submitting the application, the Superior is asked to explain the reasons for selecting the candidate and to ensure that she can devote the necessary time to regularly attend the entire two-year program. The Dicastery will evaluate scholarship applications, taking into account the candidate’s suitability and motivation, as well as the need to ensure equitable representation of the various Institutes and nations.
