#Projects of Hope: Martha and Mary´s inn

During the Jubilee of Consecrated Life, celebrated in Rome from 8 to 12 October 2025 in the Paul VI Hall, several inter-congregational projects were presented: stories of service, care, and fraternity born from the desire to live the Gospel together. These experiences show that shared mission is not simply an example to admire, but a path to follow.

This journey of collaboration and communion reveals how it is possible to respond more effectively to the needs of our time when we work together: charisms are strengthened, and the response of consecrated life becomes more fruitful and meaningful.

In this project, Consecrated Life allows itself to be touched by the pain and hope of those who live in precarious conditions. The communities involved offer spaces where welcome becomes dignity and accompaniment becomes human promotion. Here, Christ’s preferential love for the poor becomes a concrete presence, generating new paths of inclusion and hope.

#Projects of Hope: Martha and Mary´s inn

CONTEXT

It arose in Córdoba, Argentina, as a concrete response after the pandemic, due to the growing number of women — alone or with small children — arriving from the interior of the country in search of work and a place to live.

MISSION

To provide temporary accommodation (from 4 to 8 months) to women in vulnerable situations, offering support, accompaniment, and a dignified space where they can begin again.

HIGHLIGHTS

The work, which began in July 2022, is the fruit of intercongregational collaboration and committed laypeople.

It offers hospitality through closeness, service, and listening, welcoming each woman as a sister, as Christ who knocks at the door.
